Tilley Lamp X246 Gold, Factory Sealed Box 18 April 1952, Brand New Museum Piece

  

Brand New in Box, never opened, factory sealed and stamped 18 April 1952. Obviously no photo of the lamp because it's sealed in the box. This is the original 246 type (there's no B after the number on the label). It's a museum piece, one of a kind, once in a lifetime (it's 70 years old, that's a lifetime).

The value lies in the fact it is unopened, if you open it, then it's just another Tilley lamp. I've owned it more than 20 years and that dilemma drives me nuts. If you want a lamp to use, there are lots for sale. If you want an irreplaceable piece of British manufacturing history and the suspense of not knowing what's in the box this is for you. The item will be packed very carefully to protect from moisture and impact damage. If you do not do that then there will be no chance of recovering the value from DHL.
